Alison Scorgie is an independent, female gaze dramedy writer-director who is passionate about revealing the depth of a character's emotions through their private and public worlds. Alison started her career as a journalist with CBC (Canada’s BBC), then moved into advertising, building up over 15 years of commercial film experience as a creative director. In 2018 she studied briefly at London Film School and she is contributing to the film and TV world, one zeitgeist-inspired film at a time.

Alison publishes low budget short films under House of Antigone: films devoted, as Antigone was, to surfacing female gaze stories through dramatic comedy. With three award-winning shorts in the bag, she is developing her first feature, seeking producers and production partners to collaborate with and is being graciously mentored by writer-director Miranda Bowen (Killing Eve, season 3, The Last Post, Gozo, Women in Love).

Alison also co-founded The Writers’ Hut, a weekly writers support and spotlight call for emerging screenwriters.
